Something to say…

I’d say I’m pretty typical when it comes to trying to think of a perfect something to write in a note, a card or a thank you. I often find it difficult. Alas lovies- there is help for all! The writers at verseit.com have extended their pen-in-hand for the sake of saving insane amounts of time wracking our brains for the perfect something to say!  And you can’t believe how easy- simply choose your category and then the occasion and voila! A list a several verse options appear! They even give you wording options for save-the-dates, post wedding receptions etc. For a whole lot of girls who are about to write a million Thank You notes, tell me this won’t be handy:)

The above examples of fabulous custom wedding invitations and such are from our friends at the wonderful Paisley Quill. Love the fall color themes too!

We thought it might be fun to find a few fabulous alternatives to the traditional wedding gown, since we are offering an alternative to the traditional wedding bouquet. This is not to say that we think an Emplume™ bouquet will only go with a non-traditional gown, quite the contrary! We can design and create an everlasting Emplume™ bouquet to be the perfect finishing touch to ANY style of gown!

While looking for just the right alternatives to show with this post – we were so excited to come across the newest collection from Amsale – who just introduced ‘THE LITTLE WHITE DRESS” at the New York bridal market.

The collection is the first of its kind and is particularly well-suited for a time of functionality in wedding gown design. As always, Amsale remains an advocate for her bride, remarkably in tune to her needs which, this season, are ready-to-wear like frocks appropriate for engagement parties, rehearsal dinners, receptions and honeymoons.

Innovative silhouettes combined with Amsale’s mastery of fabrication and attention to detail will once again revolutionize the way the industry thinks about wedding attire.

We wanted to wish the happiest of anniversaries to our favorite wedding couple – Emilie & Andrew! Congratulations on your first year of marriage – and here’s to a lifetime of happiness!

You may have noticed that one of our most popular bouquets of all time is called the Emilie – and now you will know who it was named for! Also in our gallery is the Grace maid – which is named for her bridesmaid bouquet. We always say in our posts that this bride or that bride is our favorite – and it is all completely true! We love every bride and have love affairs with every bouquet that we make. But Emilie is special since she is my younger sister! We had the best time creating a collection to go with her Eiffel tower themed wedding (she got engaged there, can you image?!! Good job, Andrew!)  And I have to say – her bouquet looks just as fabulous and perfect today as it did on her wedding day!

(and believe me – this is quite a feat! Emilie has been generous enough to share her bouquet with all of you – and as a result, it has been sent all over the US for marketing purposes – but it has always returned to us as beautiful as ever!)

Thanks for being such troopers - Starfarm!

Thanks for being such troopers Starfarm!

Now it’s time to give props to all of our awesome vendors – because as you saw in the photos – last year on this day was one of the worst torrential downpours of the season and we had to move the entire wedding inside!

But despite the bad bad weather – they all came through beautifully for us! Thanks everyone!

Emilie’s beautiful gown, the maid gowns and all of the tuxes were from Gina’s bridal in Milford…of course, do you think we would even dream of going anywhere else?!!

The gorgeous cake was custom designed by Queen of Hearts Pastries in Depot Town to fit with the Paris theme, and believe me – it tasted like it had been baked by the finest of French bakers!

Her photos were taken by the ever fabulous Nicole Ladonne. Look at those pictures – do I even need to tell you how great they are?

The music was provided by our favorite 80’s band – Starfarm! Even though they were wet and waterlogged – the show was great! Thanks Starfarm!

The entire event took place at Waldenwoods in Hartland. It is an old Inn that has been converted to a banquet facility – very cool and sort of funky! And it looks even better when it’s not raining!

I am sure I don’t have to tell you (but of course I will!) that all of the everlasting feather bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres, the ring pillow, and all of the reception decor and details were by Emplume! And it was our sincerest pleasure to do so! Thanks Emilie and Andrew – here’s to many, many more happy years!  Love, Shannon
